In late December 2020, La Soufrière volcano began erupting on the Caribbean island of St Vincent. For three months steady lava effusion slowly built a lava dome within the summit crater of the volcano. On April 9th, activity changed dramatically with a sequence of violent explosions that displaced 20,000 people, and covered the island of St Vincent in ash. The eruption, and its impacts, may continue for some time. This project will gather data relating to the events of the ongoing eruption and their impacts, to establish how hazards have changed as the eruption has proceeded and to develop scenarios for how hazard and risk may continue to change in the coming months and years.
